Charlie L'Esperance
President & Chief Executive Officer

As RTP's President and CEO, Charlie L'Esperance is responsible for managing all aspects of RTP's business, including 5 different business units.   He is also Chairman of the RTP Board of Directors.

Charlie has over 25 years experience in hospitality and resort technology. Prior to joining RTP in March 2001, he worked for Vail Resorts, Inc. for 7 years, including roles as CIO and Corporate Officer.  At Vail Resorts, he was responsible for all information and telecommunications technology for Vail’s 5 ski resorts, golf operations, and lodging properties. He was also responsible for all Vail-owned technology companies (a large Internet Service Provider, a leading Colorado Website Development Company, and a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier).

Prior to Vail Resorts, Charlie worked for Marriott Corporation for twelve years, including roles as SrVP of Hotel Systems and Executive Committee Member.  While at Marriott, he earned many distinctions, including CIO Magazine's Top 100 Award for Excellence in Customer Service and Computer World Magazine's Award for 100 Best Technology Management Companies. He was also a Founding board member for The Hotel Industry Switch Company (THISCO).

Prior to Marriott, Charlie was Director of Systems at Ramada Corporation and their computer subsidiary, MICOR International, a leading hotel property management system vendor. He has a Master's Degree from Cornell University and Bachelors Degrees in English & Economics from Bates College.

Charlie also serves on the Vail Valley Medical Center Board of Directors.
