Web Development Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
RTP is looking for a .NET Web Architect and Development Director to lead the evolution of RTP’s web development business.  This position will provide broad functional and technical expertise in designing and developing web sites and web applications primarily for the resort and recreation industries.  This position will also provide application architecture direction; set coding standards and review solutions against standards ensuring best practice object oriented design is utilized.  This is a hands-on development director position with some coding responsibility.  This position will manage the web development team responsible for building and enhancing web sites and web applications built for our customers.  This position will report to the Director of Delivery with a dotted line reporting relationship to the VP of Software Development and to the CIO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for development and enhancement of website and custom web application projects across RTP by providing day to day supervision and direction of web development efforts.
• Provide strategic technical leadership by working with Sales and rest of the Web leadership team to grow RTP’s web business by supporting business development activities, cutting edge solution design and enhancing RTP’s web development capability.
• Estimate development effort for projects based on requirements and design input from customers and internal team members.
• Prototype solutions and take on development projects as appropriate.
• Overall responsibility for the internal and externally hosted web development and production hosting environments including web servers, SMTP servers, databases, DNS and content management servers.
• Identify and drive improvements in the web development process that facilitates quality, customer experience, schedule, and cost improvements.
• Responsible for following C# development standards and promoting use of standard toolsets across technology teams.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure architecture and coding standards are met across all web projects. Review and sign off on all functional and technical designs.
• Efficiently mentor, manage and develop your direct reports. Hold regular status review, staff, and 1-on-1 meetings.  Conduct performance reviews, work prioritization and supervision of web developers.
• Stay up to date on latest technology trends including ASP.NET, Flash, Flex, AIR, Silverlight and other RIA toolsets.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Demonstrated track record of delivering web development projects to specification, on time.
• Ability to provide strategic thinking and guidance in the web technology space.
• Strong leadership presence, ability to motivate and drive staff to get results. Can-do attitude. Positive and proactive leadership style.
• Comfortable in dynamic small company, start-up like environment.
• Experienced in structured product development practices, able to develop and enforce discipline in process.
• 4+ years of deep technical experience in Microsoft .NET technologies.
• 4+ years experience as .NET web developer (C# and ASP.NET).
• 3+ years Classic ASP.
• 4+ years MS SQL Server/TSQL experience.
• 2+ years experience with Flash and Action Script 2/3.
• 3+ years managing a development team.
• Ability to manage development priorities and assess trade-offs.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have college degree in computer science or equivalent.

Location – Avon, CO
Travel may be required.
