Stevens Pass Selects RTP for
Resort-Wide Operations

Stevens Pass to be the First Ski Resort in North America
to Implement Integrated, Resort-Wide
RTP-SKIDATA RFID Access Control and Ticketing System

September 2, 2008 - Avon, Colo.  – RTP, the leading provider of software, interactive services, and RFID access control for the resort and recreation industries, announced today that Stevens Pass Winter Resort has selected RTP to provide the first completely integrated resort-wide solution to manage its resort and provide hands-free convenience for their guests.  The system, which will be implemented for the 2008/2009 winter season, will enable Stevens Pass to optimize their operations and better service their guests.

“We are excited to implement the RTP and SKIDATA solution,” said John Gifford, General Manager of Stevens Pass.  “We previously used various systems to manage the different areas of our resort’s operations.  This integrated solution will give us the ability to improve operational efficiencies while enhancing our guests’ experiences.”

Stevens Pass will be the first resort-wide deployment of the new RTP–SKIDATA integrated ticketing, RFID access control and point-of-sale system that manages all resort operations, including lift access control, ticketing and season pass sales, ski and snowboard school, retail and rental operations, and eCommerce.  The new system will allow Stevens Pass to offer a variety of ticket and pass options, all of which will be issued on ticket or pass media with embedded RFID chips.

RTP’s ecommerce capabilities allow guests to reload the media online with additional tickets or products, so guests can use one piece of media for several seasons.  Guests can also purchase at select local retail locations which will allow the guests to go “direct to lift” and avoid the ticket sales lines.  Once at the lift, the guests will experience “hands free” access to the lifts, since they will no longer need to have an operator manually check or scan their tickets.

“We are thrilled to have Stevens Pass as one of our first customers to implement the new integrated RTP–SKIDATA solution,” said Michael McDermott, Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing at RTP.  “RFID technology is relatively new to the North American ski industry and will change the way resorts manage their operations and interact with their guests. By adopting an RFID-based system, Stevens Pass will establish itself as a leader in the industry.  Their guests will benefit from a more seamless experience, whether they are purchasing their ticket and pass on the Stevens Pass website, or enjoying hands-free skiing or riding experience on the mountain.”
